This is an update to one our previous posts, “Dare to Care Expanding” dated November 1, 2018
Dare to Care, is a not for profit organization dedicated to feeding the hungry in the Louisville region. Dahlem was tasked to find a new location for their offices as well as their kitchen. This new location will allow their kitchen to triple in size , thereby significantly expanding the outreach of their mission
Dahlem’s assignment was to find a location that was large enough for the consolidation of Dare to Care’s offices and include an expanded kitchen. It was critical to be close to the Louisville community in need of their services as well as nearby expressway access for easy distribution purposes to the region. We found multiple locations for consideration, but the one that stood out as the most ideal was a former grocery store located at 1200 South 28th Street in Louisville, KY.
The City of Louisville had possession of this property, so we engaged Louisville Forward (the City’s Economic Development agency) to discuss acquiring or leasing the property. The city was willing to lease this site at a very favorable rate to Dare to Care to expand its mission in the community and the lease was fully executed in June, 2019.
